Technologies at Our Dental Office

At Southwest Dental Care, the technology we use helps to inform treatment planning and should make your dental appointments more efficient.

By displaying digital x-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, we are able to show you any problems in your mouth and walk you through your treatment plan step-by-step.

It is our goal to make sure that our patients are fully informed about their oral health and to provide them with efficient dental care. Our dental technology helps us to achieve those goals.

iTero 3D Scanner

The iTero® intraoral scanner is used to take highly accurate, 3D impressions of your bite. This technology allows us to plan your dental treatment in real time, store data digitally, and create Invisalign clear aligners.

Dental Lasers

Lasers (extremely focused light beams) are used in dentistry in a variety of soft and hard tissue procedures. Laser technology allows our dentists to perform procedures with less pain and reduce the need for medical interventions.  At Southwest Dental Care, our dentists use lasers to remove overgrown or decayed tissue, reshape the gums, harden dental restorations quickly, or whiten teeth.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic x-rays give your dentist the ability to create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation that not only includes the teeth and jaws, but also the temporomandibular joints (TMJ), nasal structures, and sinus structures. Panoramic x-rays are helpful in treatment planning for dentures, braces, extractions and implants.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays use digital sensors rather than traditional photographic x-ray film. This technology produces detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions. Digital x-rays allow your dentist to examine areas of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye, and can easily be shared with other dentists or specialists.
